Reptiles

Stanley

Stan is a hatchling Royal Python [Python Regius], he is so tiny that he fits in the palm of your hand. An idea of scale can be seen from the newsprint. Stan is not a rescue but our first real aquisition.

Jasmin

Jas is another Royal Python, she is about 18 years old and had a hard life, evidence of burns and infections in the past are scattered along her length. She was our first reptile rescue, currently she is about 55 inches in length.
Jas chomping as usual

Netty

Netty is reclusive to say the least, another rescue she is now around 4ft in length, likes to keep herself to herself. Due to her reclusive nature we often have to do a "Think its still alive?" and investigate where she is hiding.

Rowndtree

Rowndtree is a Californian Kingsnake, marked with chocolate and ivory bands. She is currently about 56 inches long and growing!
Rowndtree is another rescue, this time from a rescue centre that was closing down, she was in the scrag end of the stock that was left. She was obvously very hungry when she came and ate non-stop for about 5 days averaging 3~4 mice a day. Since then she's calmed down and is very happy to watch the tv draped over a log in her viv.
Roundtree is the only reptile thats bitten me so far!

Pics to follow.

Joan

Joan is a Water Dragon, she is officially on holiday, but shows little sign of going back. Usual signs of previous distress with a missing nose and re-grown tail. Currently Joan is on a diet!
She loves to ride around on your shoulder or head, and is quick to announce she want to play by scampering up your arm as soon as the viv is opened.

Mammals

Noddy

Last year we had one pet, Noddy a Jack Russell of indeterminate age, he is stone deaf and trained to hand signals. Of very good nature Nod has learnt not to eat the kittens and will play with Jasper quite happily.
Am I handsome or what ? Nods relaxing on his human dog bed, me! Ferocious Guard Dog!

Jasper

Jasper is the tom of our two kittens, he has a small identity problem in that he thinks he's a dog. This is partley my fault as he was so disobediant at first that he had a lot of training. Current skills include Another of Jasper's eccentricities is water, its almost impossible to have a shower without Jasper playing in the water around your feet, or in the washing up bowl, any glass of water [he will get a foot and his head in] or the bath. He likes to play with his toys in the bath with about 3 inches of water, when he's finshed he pulls the plug and lets the water out. This is no joke.
Its a cat Jim, but not as we know it. Japser just bringing his toy out the bath. Sometimes he just does things like this.
No I haven't been near the coal bucket.

Portia

Portia is cute, she is a full sister to Jasper from the same litter, however sh is only half his size and not as boisterous. She likes to ride around on your shoulder or draped around your neck. To date Portia has exhibited no tricks or japes and restricts herself to coming when her name is called.
To be honest we think she was the runt, and as such will not grow very much, we are still not convinced of her intelligence.
Small enough to fit in your hand. Asleep upstairs, no-dog zone. China ornament impression.

Saffron

Our latest addition, Saffron a Golden Labrador Puppy. Saffron has been with us less than a week, and is already turning out to be quite a personality. She loves to play with Jasper and romps around like a fluffy puppy will. Saffron is a descendent of Mel's original Labrador Cassie. Unfortunately Cassie had to be put down earlier in the year from old age, so along comes Saffron, has a lot of the same characteristics as her grandma, so she should be fun. Training currently underway, so far she manages to look cute and fluffy, thats about all.
Andrex anybody ? I love my squeeky toy. Chase that cat.
